So my baking has been on hiatus for a while. I realized that with all of the commotion of the end of the school year, my birthday, and summer I haven't done much.
This past weekend we spent an evening with some good friends of ours. What was supposed to be a warm, sunny, BBQ turned in to a rain all day kind of event. That didn't stop us from having a great time with each other.
I of course said that I wanted to bring the treat. So I whipped up my Girl Scout Cookie Pizza. I haven't made it in quite some time, but it was a big hit.

Chocolate Buttercream
I have been dying to try out my new buttercream recipe that was chocolate added to it. It was my mother-in-law's birthday on the 28th of April so I decided it would be a good time to test it out. The cake was amazing!!
Here is the finished cake.
Last week it was one of my co-workers birthdays. Her request was rice-krispie treats, but I told her I was eager to try out the buttercream with cupcakes. So I went for it.
The cupcakes were absolutely delicious!! She was glad that I chose for her instead.

Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies
So I have been dying to try this recipe for Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies. They started out like any other chocolate chip cookies, but got some zing added throughout the mixing......
Cayenne Pepper and Cinnamon!!
Here they are pre-baking:
Here they are post-baking:
Let me tell you these cookies are awesome!! I was a little apprehensive, but the spice sneaks up on you, which makes them wonderful. If you like a little spice, you will love these.

Daisy Cake Pops
A friend of mine requested a daisy cake pop bouquet for her son's teacher who was having a baby. They threw her a cute baby shower at school and then she gave the bouquet as a treat from herself. She said the teacher loved it. Here is a picture ......
The cake pops all set to be wrapped up in their bouquet.
I am getting more ideas and getting more requests each day for new cake pops, cakes, and cupcakes. I just love all of this baking!

Flower Cake Pop
Tonight I did a demo of a flower cake pop for my friend Jen. It was a bit odd to only make one, but it worked. These will be fun to make especially with the Easter colors. Happy Spring!

Brownie Bites
Last week one of our neighbors watched Sophia for a couple of hours so that I could attend a class for school and my husband could attend a board meeting. As a thank-you, I made her some spring brownie bites. She said they were so good, she was even eating them for breakfast.
I am ready for spring so I decided to do spring colors and flowers.
